Spineart is proud to announce that more than 50’000 Cervical Disc Prosthesis BAGUERA® C have been implanted globally.

Strong of excellent results at 5 years, BAGUERA® C stands out as top-notch artificial disc replacement device, elegantly engineered to ensure a safe and effective treatment option for patients. The 10 years clinical follow-up are expected to be released soon and an IDE clinical investigation is ongoing in the USA.

The BAGUERA® C Cervical Disc Prosthesis is an MRI safe spinal device. The endplates of the BAGUERA® C are anatomically shaped and their inner bearing surfaces are coated with a diamond-like material that features a low coefficient of friction. The load sharing design and the guided mobile nucleus are intended to prevent excessive constraints on the facet joints and the adjacent levels.

Spineart is proud to partner with Dr. Hyun Bae at the Spine Institute, Santa Monica, California as part of two clinical trials evaluating BAGUERA® C, a new cervical disc replacement option for patients with degenerative cervical disc disease.

The clinical trials are evaluating the BAGUERA® C cervical artificial disc, which is designed to help maintain the natural behavior and mobility of a functional cervical spine.

Unlike spinal disc fusion, a common surgical treatment option, the goal of cervical disc replacement is to help preserve motion of the cervical spine or spinal segment after surgery. This can provide patients with improved quality of life after treatment.

We would like to thank the two Chairmen, Dr. Gregory Edgard-Rosa and Prof Constantin Schizas FRCS, as well as the four Faculties, Dr. Martin Janata, Dr. Francesco Caiazzo, Dr. Mudit Sharma and Dr. Joe Lee, for their expertise during the two-day Anterior Lumbar Academy held at the SWISS Foundation for Innovation and Training in Surgery (SFITS) laboratory in Geneva. 

Thirty surgeons from around the globe had the opportunity to train on the anterior lumbar spine approach on re-vascularized anatomical specimens.  They shared tips and tricks on a variety of techniques and discussed cases during these interactive sessions. 

We warmly thank all the participants for sharing their valuable experiences, benefitting their peers and patients alike.

Spineart is grateful to Dr. Patrick Fransen for sharing his extensive experience on Total disc replacement during a Roadshow recently held across Brazil. 85 participants exchanged on the indications, the science behind this technique and discussed various cases.

We would also like to thank Dr. Marcio Vinhal, Dr. Alexandre Fogaça and Dr. Helton Defino for welcoming us in Recife and Sao Paulo and for being able to create science and peer-based learning opportunities. Such events reinforce Spineart and their partner NOS Brasil – Neuro Orthopaedics Surgeries commitment to developing high level Education programs.

BAGUERA® C demonstrated excellent results at 5 years and the 10 years follow-up data are soon to be released. Spineart continues to actively collect valuable data in an IDE clinical investigation to support its future approval in the USA.
